Commuteco (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates commuteco.in and the Commuteco shuttle service across Chennai OMR and Chengalpattu. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1.Business status & payment processing
Commuteco is currently operated as a service/brand and is in the process of completing its formal business registration.
Online payments for the service are processed through our payment gateway partner.
2.Information we collect
When you join the waitlist, sign up for onboarding, or use the Commuteco app, we may collect:
- Identity & contact details: name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender.
- Route & location data: home address, office address, and approximate pickup/drop coordinates, used to plan routes and stops.
- Work schedule details: office login/logout times, working days, and working type (WFO/hybrid), used to match you to a shuttle timing.
- Emergency contact details, where provided, for rider safety.
- Usage data: pages visited, device/browser type, and interactions with the site, collected via cookies and analytics tools.
3.How we use your information
- To plan and operate shuttle routes, stops, and schedules.
- To create and manage your Commuteco account and rider profile.
- To send OTPs, booking confirmations, and service updates via SMS, WhatsApp, or email.
- To respond to support requests and, where relevant, contact your emergency contact.
- To improve our routes, pricing, and product based on aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.
- To measure the effectiveness of our marketing (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Pixel conversion tracking).
4.How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers we rely on to run Commuteco, including Supabase (database & authentication), MSG91 (SMS/OTP delivery), Resend (transactional email), and Ola Maps (route & geocoding).
- Payment processing partners, as described in Section 1, for handling online payments.
- Corporate partners, only where you've signed up through a corporate programme and only to the extent needed to administer that benefit.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where legally required.
5.Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time by writing to us (see Section 8).
6.Cookies & analytics
commuteco.in uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and to understand how visitors use the site, via Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel, and Ahrefs Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7.Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authenticated database access, and row-level security policies, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8.Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for marketing communications, at any time by emailing hello@commuteco.in.
9.Children's privacy
Commuteco is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date at the top of this page.
